Getting started
Invite a tenant
Add a tenant and get them into the resident portal — invites, resends, and access status.

Tenants in Corbica are two things at once: a record you manage (contact info, leases, balances) and — once invited — a portal login the tenant uses to pay rent, submit maintenance requests, and see their lease. This doc covers both halves.
Add the tenant
Open Tenants in the sidebar and add a new tenant. Creating tenants requires the tenants.manage permission. The form collects:
- Personal Information — Full Name and Email (required), plus Phone, Date of Birth, Employer, and Income.
- Emergency Contact and Alternate Contact — name, phone, relationship.
- Notes — anything internal; tenants never see these.
The email address matters most: it becomes the tenant's portal login and where their invite is sent.
Send the portal invite
At the bottom of the form, the Portal access card has a Send portal invite email now checkbox, on by default. Leave it checked and the tenant is emailed a secure setup link the moment you click Create Tenant — they follow it, set a password, and land in the resident portal.
Uncheck it to add the tenant quietly. The invite still exists behind the scenes; you can send it whenever you're ready from their profile.
Invite links expire after 30 days. If one lapses, just resend.
Invite later, or resend
On a tenant's profile, the Account Access card shows their portal status — when the invite was sent, whether it's been accepted, and when they last signed in (or Never signed in). Until the tenant activates their account, the card offers a Send invite button (or Resend invite if one was already sent), behind a confirmation dialog.
Two gates apply: resending requires tenants.manage, and your own email address must be verified — Corbica won't send invites from an unverified operator address. Resending also invalidates any previously sent link, so a forwarded or stale invite can't be used after you issue a fresh one.
Every send and resend is recorded on the tenant's activity timeline, so you can always confirm "did the invite actually go out, and when?"
Activation is another path in
If you skip the manual invite, the tenant still gets a way in when their lease is activated: the "your lease is now active" email carries a set-up-your-account link to the same registration flow. Corbica deliberately avoids double-emailing — the activation email replaces the bare invite rather than stacking on top of it.
After they accept
Once the tenant sets a password (or signs in for the first time), the Account Access card flips to Active and the invite button disappears — an active user doesn't need one. From the portal they can view their lease and balance, pay rent online if you've set up rent collection, and open maintenance requests.
If a tenant says they never got the invite, check the email on their profile for typos first, then use Resend invite — the new link supersedes the old one.
