Payments & rent collection
Online rent collection
Connect a payout account through Stripe, set your payout schedule, and let tenants pay by bank transfer, card, or auto-pay.

Online rent collection has two halves: you connect a payout account once, and tenants pay from their portal. Everything a tenant pays online is recorded and booked to your general ledger automatically — no manual entry.
Set up payouts
Open Payout Settings from the Integrations area. Click Set up on Stripe — you're redirected to a secure Stripe-hosted page that collects your bank details, business info, and identity verification (about two minutes), then returns you here. Your email must be verified before you can start onboarding. If you left partway through, the page shows your onboarding as in progress with a Continue on Stripe button, or you can cancel and start fresh later.
Once active, the page shows your connected bank account, when it was connected, and your payout schedule.
Payout timing
Under Change Payout Schedule, pick how often Stripe sweeps collected rent to your bank:
- Daily
- Weekly (Fridays)
- Monthly (1st)
You can also swap the receiving bank with Update Bank Account, or Disconnect entirely — after which tenants can no longer pay online until you reconnect.
Fees
- Bank transfer (ACH) — a per-payment fee comes out of the rent you collect, by plan: 2.9% (max $10) on Free, 2.5% (max $8) on Starter/Trial, 1.0% (max $5) on Professional, free on Business.
- Card — the tenant pays a 3.25% convenience fee ($5 minimum) that covers processing; you receive the full rent.
What tenants do
In the tenant portal's Payments page, a tenant links a bank account (a bank-transfer payment adds nothing on top of rent for them — the ACH fee above is deducted from your side) or saves a card, then pays open charges with one tap. Payment methods are managed on the portal's payment-methods page.
Auto-pay
The portal's Auto-Pay card lets each tenant enroll individually. Auto-pay charges a saved card, so the tenant must save one first. Enrollment supports co-tenants splitting rent: each enrolled tenant sets an optional contribution amount, or leaves it blank to cover whatever remains. On the day rent comes due, the auto-pay run charges enrolled tenants, caps combined contributions at the remaining balance, records the payment, posts the journal entry, and emails the tenant a receipt. If a charge fails, the tenant is notified so they can fix their payment method.
Where the money shows up
Every online payment books a balanced journal entry the moment it settles, so your income statement, dashboard, and owner statements reflect it without any bookkeeping on your part. Online payments route through a processor clearing account until the payout lands, which keeps bank reconciliation clean — the payout deposit on your bank feed matches what cleared.
