What tenants get in their portal
A tour of the tenant portal — rent payments, auto-pay, maintenance requests, lease documents, and the AI assistant.

Every tenant you add gets a portal login — a separate, mobile-friendly app branded with your organization's name and logo. Knowing what they see helps you answer their questions and point them at self-service instead of your inbox. Their navigation: Dashboard, Pay Rent, Maintenance, My Lease, and Messages.
Paying rent
The Pay Rent page lists every open charge with due dates and amounts. Paying opens a dialog with two methods:
- ACH (bank account) — marked with a No fee badge. This is the path to steer tenants toward.
- Card — carries a convenience fee, shown to the tenant with a full total breakdown before they commit, so there are no surprises.
Either way the tenant completes payment on a secure Stripe page; card and bank details never touch your servers. When several charges are open, Pay total balance settles all of them in one checkout. Payments post to the tenant's history and to your books automatically, and receipts go out by email.
On Payment Methods, tenants save a bank account or card for reuse.
Auto-pay
The Auto-Pay card on the payments page lets a tenant enroll in automatic monthly payment. It charges their saved card off-session, so a saved payment method is required first — the card walks them through adding one if it's missing. By default auto-pay covers whatever remains due each cycle; a tenant can instead set a fixed contribution amount, which is how roommates split rent (each co-tenant enrolls for their share). Tenants can turn it off themselves at any time.
Maintenance requests
Under Maintenance, tenants submit requests with a title, description, and photos, then track status as your team works the ticket — no phone tag. After a request is resolved they can leave feedback, which shows up on your side as a quality signal.
The lease and documents
My Lease shows the tenant their lease terms, rent amount, and important dates, plus a Documents section with everything you've shared against the lease. When you send a lease for e-signature, the tenant signs right here — embedded signing, no third-party account needed — and renewal offers appear on the same page for the tenant to accept or decline.
Messages, notifications, and more
Under Messages, tenants get threaded conversations with your team. They also manage their own notification preferences and profile details. Depending on what you've turned on, tenants may also see Credit Reporting (their on-time rent reported to credit bureaus, with a reporting history), invoices for commercial tenants, inspection sign-offs, and a rental resume builder.
The AI assistant bubble
On paid plans (Starter and up), tenants see a floating assistant bubble in the corner of every portal page. Opening it starts a chat scoped strictly to their own data — suggested prompts include "What's my current balance?", "When is my rent due?", and "Report a maintenance issue."
The assistant answers rent, balance, and lease questions directly, and it can draft a maintenance request from a description of the problem — but it never submits anything on its own. The tenant reviews the draft on a confirmation card and taps submit themselves. The assistant cannot see other tenants, your books, or anything beyond that tenant's lease, and per-organization budget caps bound its usage.
Getting tenants in
Tenant logins are created from the Tenants area on your dashboard — add the tenant, and their portal invitation flows from there. If a tenant reports trouble signing in, check their user record and status under User Admin.
